The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is currently recruiting qualified registered nurses (RNs) who work with entry-level registered nurses (RNs) for two upcoming meetings that will take place in Chicago, IL. The two meetings are:
NCLEX-RN Practice Analysis Expert Panel – October 13-14, 2026
NCLEX-RN Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) Expert Panel – November 17-18, 2026
NCSBN conducts both an RN Practice Analysis and an RN KSA meeting every three years in order to ensure that the NCLEX-RN exam continues to reflect current nursing practice.
Both meetings will be composed of a variety of members, representing the NCLEX test user areas and various clinical specialties and practice settings. Members of both panels must meet the following criteria:
- RN with an active nursing license/registration in good standing
- Current clinical practice
- Supervises, precepts, and/or mentors newly licensed RNs (within their first 12 months of practice)
- Has not participated in nursing licensure examination development activities, including development of nursing licensure exam preparation guides and courses, in the previous two years (this does not include volunteer activities with NCSBN)
Travel-related expenses, such as prepaid airfare and lodging, will be covered by NCSBN. Considering the amount of recommendations received, as well as the selection criteria, it is possible not all applicants will be asked to serve.
If you are interested, please send an email to general@cnnb-opinb.ca by June 30, 2026. CNNB will recommend 3-4 qualified applicants to NCSBN, and they will notify nominees directly with next steps and provide the volunteer application. If you have questions, please contact NCSBN at testdev@ncsbn.org.
