In a decision dated December 15, 2025, a panel of the NANB Discipline Committee accepted an Alternate Complaint Resolution Proposal (“ACRP”) between NANB and Mandela Nelson Okinyi Atinga (Registration Number 032027). Mr. Atinga admitted to being on a personal cell phone during work time; failing to complete and record vital signs; failing to complete and record patient assessments; failing to notice that his diabetic patient had been placed on a dextrose infusion and failing to correct the error; failing to conduct hourly patient rounds; administering a medication to a patient three hours early due to failing to verify when the medication had last been administered; failing to administer a scheduled morning insulin dose and failing to detect the error; failing to record relevant information on his worksheet; failing to set an intravenous pump at the appropriate rate; requiring instruction on how to reorder medications; not knowing whether medications could be administered to a patient who was NPO (nothing by mouth) and asking the same question twice; and requiring direction when performing a PICC line dressing change and flushing for the first time.

The NANB Discipline Committee ordered that the suspension of Mr. Atinga’s registration imposed by the NANB Complaints Committee on December 20, 2023 be continued until remedial education is completed. When the remedial education is complete, Mr. Atinga will be eligible to apply for a conditional registration.

In a decision dated December 15 2025, CNNB Discipline Committee accepted the Alternate Complaint Resolution Proposal (“ACRP”) submitted by Mandela Nelson Okinyi Atinga 032027. As a result of the admissions made in the ACRP, the Discipline Committee found that Mandela Nelson Okinyi Atinga 032027 failed to adhere to;

Standard 4: Professional Relationships and Leadership,

Mandela Nelson Okinyi Atinga 032027 admitted that their conduct was inappropriate for a Registered Nurse and contrary to the Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses and the Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses.

The registrant is subject to the following conditions:
1. Performance evaluations from their employer(s) from the date of their return to the active practice of nursing;
2. Cannot work in self-employed nursing, or supervisory roles
4. Shall pay CNNB a portion of the costs of the Complaint
3. Must Provide their employers with a copy of the Discipline Committee’s decision and order and advise CNNB of any change in address or employer
