Consent Agreement
In a decision dated October 27, 2025, a panel of the NANB Complaints Committee accepted a Consent Agreement between NANB and Sabita Sunar (Registration Number 034013). Ms. Sunar admitted to making multiple medication errors; documenting the administration of a medication before the patient had consumed the medication; forgetting to document the administration of a medication; looking up information about unfamiliar medications after administering them; failing to successfully draw blood from a patient and failing to perform an IV cannula insertion; trying to remove a patient’s Foley catheter while the patient was seated in a wheelchair; failing to do a thorough assessment on a patient; failing to check a patient’s heart rate before administering Digoxin; exhibiting poor time management; failing to do research on assigned patients before starting her shift; going to see a patient without properly washing her hands; and having difficulty organising and prioritizing.
Ms. Sunar has voluntarily agreed to the following conditions on her registration:
- Successfully complete the IEN Bridging Program;
- Practice under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner and submit written reports by the supervising Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner for the first 300 hours from the date of the Consent Agreement;
- Submit performance evaluations from her employer(s) from the date of the Consent Agreement;
- Not work independently as a self-employed Registered Nurse or in a supervisory role; and
- Provide each employer and regulatory body with which she is registered with a copy of the Consent Agreement and corresponding Complaints Committee Decision and notify NANB of any change in address or employer.
